Opening Night Reminder
The season starts Tuesday night. If possible, plan to be there by 4:30. Opening nights are sometimes a little confusing with new procedures. Probably the most important scheduling item is the teams on the front nine are going off in a shotgun start at 4:45.

Opening Night Weather
It is going to be cold. 5:00 PM temp is forecasted to be 44 degrees. It is not supposed to rain, so unless the course has standing water to start with, we will play. Dress accordingly.

SUBS NEEDED
Kind of a hard sell coming off the weather forecast. But we have needs for several subs Tuesday night. I just pasted the sub list below.

Any subs interested in playing, please let me know ASAP.

Scoring Clarification (maybe rule change)
It is possible to likely we will have open spots Tuesday night. During the season when full time golfers have an average established, this will not be a huge issue as I will use the golfers average for their opponent to play against. But I don’t have anything to work with in week 1.

This could result in a team earning 50 points and another team earning 0. Those become unfair advantages and disadvantages in the standings.

My default option is to score it as such. But I am considering using week two scores to go back and adjust week 1 results once the missing players establish an average. I am undecided at this time, and not going to commit tonight. But wanted to let you know that I see this coming.

Announcements and Communication
This was an email question (thank you). How am I going to communicate when you need to be notified on short notice. This is valuable when we have rain in the area on golf night. That will be the primary use. But I can use for other purposes as well.

Email is the default communication method.
I do not have the means to mass text, nor the time to send individual text. So texting will only be used for individual communication.

I am going to add a banner at the top of the web site home page for urgent announcements. Will work on tonight, but no promises it will be ready for tomorrow.

Range Balls
This was also an email question (thank you). If you choose to hit a bucket of ball prior to the round, does the course provide a small bucket for warming up.

NO, the course does not provide a warm up balls.

You will need to purchase a small bucket from the clubhouse. You are responsible for allowing enough time to warm up and still make your tee time. I am not familiar with the driving range at Sharon Woods, so many of us will learn together.
