The locomotive looks like a N&W 4-6-0 class U, built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1892. Most were converted by the N&W from Vulcan compounds to simple at the Roanoke shops. The one seen here is set up for simple operation. The last one was off the roster in 1933.
