Post card at Batavia Depot, probably circa 1910. The locomotive looks like a N&W 4-6-0 class U, built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1892. Most were converted by the N&W from Vulcan compounds to simple at the Roanoke shops. The one seen here is set up for simple operation. The last one was off the roster in 1933. Ed Fannin collection.
