Photo posted to fb on February 21, 2012 by Chad Fannin. Photo Credit to Ed Fannin. Description from post.

On May 12, 1912 a N&W train left Cincinnati for Portsmouth, Ohio. Aboard this train was the President of the United States, William Howard Taft. He traveled along the Peavine giving speeches at some of the stops. Photo is of him standing on the back platform of a business car speaking at the McDermott station in Scioto County. The other photo is Taft speaking at Tracy Park in Portsmouth. Taft was a native of Cincinnati, born there in 1857. He was President from 1909 to 1913. He died in 1930 and is only one of two Presidents to be interned in Arlington National Cemetery. The other President being JFK.
