Category Description:
The bridge over the Little Miami River is the very first notable structure on the Peavine. Trains leaving Clare Yard would cross the Pennsylvania Railroad at Batavia Junction, and immediately cross the river on a pair of truss bridges. Milepost 9 is between where the diamonds use to be and the bridge, and is considered the western end of the Cincinnati District.

In addition to the two truss bridges, the bridge has four or five deck girder spans on the east side, which I did not have space to model.

The bridge is made from two Walthers single track truss bridge kits. The kits were modified to remove one section of the bridge, and to create an X pattern in the middle of the bridge. Diagonal supports that are distinctive to this bridge were also added. To date, I have not added the walkway on the north side of the bridge, that will be a detail to add later.

This was my first attempt to model a specific prototype from the Peavine. Please with the results, it gave me the confidence to continue with the project.
