Category Description: I like to think of myself as a man ahead of his time. At least in regards to the Purina plant in Afton. Let me explain. The Purina Plant in Afton is still being built. It will probably be another years before they can switch train cars at their facility. But my layout is up and running now, and able to take car loads of grain to make pet foods today. So technically, I've modeled and industry before it existed. OK, that's probably not as big a deal as I'd like to make it. But Purina is the most exciting thing to happen on the Peavine since the CCET started operating in 2013. This will hopefully be a foundation for many years of continued service. It is also the first rail served industry in the developing Afton Industrial park. So maybe there is more to come. |
