Does anyone have information about the Batavia Train Accident of 1981? I'd love to hear it. Thanks, Cindy (from the comments, Ralph Flowers) I can remember this, the shifter or a work train crew was switching out camp cars at Batavia . Grass had grown over the rail and Engineer Lem I. Thompson could not stop because the engine wheels were sliding on the grass while going down hill.
