Sardinia Wye Video

Video posted to YouTube by "Jaw Tooth", August 16, 2017. Description from the video post.
Remnants of ex Norfolk and Western Railway branch being put back into service to turn locomotives! Last train used this line in the late 90s. Cincinnati East Terminal Railway (CCET) leases this line from the Norfolk Southern Railroad (NS). CCET only has one locomotive that is facing east. This railroad “Y” is needed to turn the engines since they have no other way to do it and if traffic increases on the line there could be a crew working the east end of the line while another crew works the west end. This line runs west to east. This video shows the “Y” in Sardinia and also shows a railfan chase starting in Mt. Orab, OH and ending at the east end of Sardinia. The train was shut down here for the day. Note: at 4:44 a pickup truck approaches the crossing without looking. He ran the stop sign and then stopped on the track when he saw the train approaching! Then he backed up instead of proceeding across the level crossing! LOL. Thanks for watching! Please comment, rate and SUBSCRIBE TO JAWTOOTH!!
