Live Action At Buckeye Mills

This shot gives a very good overview of the complexity of switching moves at Buckeye Mills. In the foreground are a box car and covered hopper being picked up from the mill. The covered hoppers are empty and the box car is full of cereal favorites like Buck-nuts, Buckeroos and Buckeye Flakes. Behind the outbound cars, we see three covered hoppers, the last of which is in the unoading shed. This track is the primary grain unloading track, whre covered hoppers full of grain are delivered. The box cars are being spotted at the shipping doors. This track extends into the unloading shed and can be used for grain unloading during peak periods.
