Posted to Facebook Cincinnati Eastern Railroad Group Page November 6,2018 by Brian Gibson. Description from post
Short local freight train crosses abandoned road on huge trestle. Hocking Valley Scenic Railway steam train trailer follows. Cincinnati Eastern Railroad was crossing the road enroute to switch a few customers. They had 7 empty covered hopper cars for Winchester, Ohio, 2 empty gondola cars for Macon and they had to move 2 tank cars in Sardinia. Canyon Road near Mount Orab, Ohio has been abandoned and blocked off for years. I use to drive down this road. Filmed November 5, 2018. The steam train in this video comes from a video that I am working on and should have completed by the weekend. It is a trailer for Hocking Valley Scenic Railway in Nelsonville, Ohio. This is the first steam train on the ex Chesapeake & Ohio line in 3 years. See my other videos of HVSR. The train ran 4 trips over 2 days. I rode one of the trips in an open air car and in the caboose and I filmed another trip. Filmed November 3, 2018. Special thanks to Hocking Valley Scenic Railway conductor Josh Pack and the crew! I am working on the video right now and I hope you enjoy the few shots of the steam train in this short video. Thanks for watching! Please comment, rate and SUBSCRIBE TO JAWTOOTH!!
