First Train Returns! Crossing Gate Malfunction Returning Switcher Locomotive To Grain Elevator!
Posted to Facebook Cincinnati Eastern Railroad Group Page November 6,2018 by Brian Gibson. Description from post

First train on out of service Norfolk Southern branch line known as the Peavine! This industrial railway branch line was almost an abandoned railroad line. NS leased it to Cincinnati East Terminal Railway. Filmed March 20, 2015. This is the first train through Mt. Orab Ohio since April 25, 2014, almost a year. This is the first train thru here for CCET RY. They had never gone past MP32.5 until today. This is MP41 and they went all the way to MP62 today. I had just came out of Krogers in Mt. Orab and I heard them crossing Brooks Mallott Rd while I was loading my groceries into the truck. Talk about luck!! They took the historic Electro Motive Diesel EMD SW9 switcher to the grain elevator in Winchester at MP57.5 and then proceeded farther east nearly to their allowable limits near MP62.3 and then returned lite all the way back to Huhtamaki at MP31 for some switching work. Winchester Ag Services Inc from Winchester Ohio bought this small switcher locomotive from National Railway Equipment NRE out of Illinois. I followed them and recorded most of the shots although I never put them together in a complete video. Frontier Rail owns CCET. As of 2018, Cincinnati East Terminal Railway is now known as Cincinnati Eastern Railroad CCET LLC. Frontier Rail is still a major owner and there are some new investors.
