Return To Gallery Menu   Railroad President Dies While Riding Posted to Facebook History of the Peavine Group Page January 2, 2019 by Roger Myers. Description from post On July 2 1884 the president of the railroad at that time W.R. McGill was riding on an inspection of the line. He was in a baggage car leaning out the door while the train was passing over the high trestle just outside Winchester. He lost his grip and fell to his death. It is believed he died instantly and did not linger. David Lamb Note: I did not have a photo with this. I tried to locate from the fb group, but only found another post by Roger about WR McGill.
