Short Line Railroad Switching, One Switcher Vs Boxcars At Huhtamaki Batavia, Ohio
Video posted to facebook by Brian Gibson on June 1 2021. Description from youtube post.
American short line railway switching and shunting on the Huhtamaki Industrial Spur. One small switcher locomotive working a long cut of boxcars and covered hopper cars. Also the train passes Sardinia and Mount Orab Ohio after working Huhtamaki in Batavia, Ohio. First we see the train working the industrial sidings for Huhtamaki and Mount Carmel Group located at the old Ford plant in Batavia, Ohio. They also had to get one load of scrap metal from Cohen Recycling that had been sitting on a siding in Sardinia. So after they switched out the plants in Batavia, they added a B36-7 to the rear of the train and we see them passing Sardinia to get the scrap metal gondola car. Next we see the train coming back through Mount Orab, Ohio after picking up the gondola car but this time the General Electric B36-7 is leading. They were en route to the Norfolk Southern interchange at Clare Yard in Mariemont, Ohio. Don't miss the outro with the dogs playing in the sandbox and the slide show with pictures from this video. Filmed Friday, May 28, 2021. Thanks for watching! Please thumbs up and watch another JawTooth video to help my channel.
