Train On Tight Curve & Farming In America! N&W Branch, No Till Soybean Farming, Williamsburg Train
Video posted to facebook by Brian Gibson on June 4 2021. Description from youtube post.
Old Norfolk & Western branch line in Ohio and how no till farming is done in Ohio. Cincinnati Eastern Railroad train in Williamsburg Ohio. After the train passes we see some big tractors breaking up the soil surface and planting crops. The train was returning from picking up 2 loads of scrap metal from Cohen Recycling in Macon, Ohio and 4 tank cars that had been stored on the east end of the line. Chessie The Sleeping Puppy came with me to watch the train and then I went back to my farm to film the soybeans coming up. They do no till farming here. The first tractor was breaking up the surface of the ground and the 2nd tractor was planting the beans. The surface of the ground only gets broken up about every 3 years or so. Slits are made in the soil and the beans are dropped in. It only takes a week or so for the beans to pop up. People were asking to see the process of planting so here it is. There's not much to see and its pretty simple. May the 20th the fields were sprayed to kill the weeds. May 26 the surface was broken, the seeds were planted and small drainage ditches were cut. The seeds popped up about a week later and in a few month they will be harvested. This was filmed on June 10, 2021 AD. Thanks for watching! Please thumbs up and watch another JawTooth video to help my channel.
