Our championship match was worthy of the title. Bill Hobek and John Coop defeated Matt Goetz and Charles Fry 27-23 in a very tightly contested match. Each team won one of the A&B matches convincingly. Matt Goetz beat Bill 6-1-2 in the A match. John fought back in the B match 6-2-1. The difference was the team net score, where Bill and John shot a combined net 76 versus Matt and Rob’s 79.
Congratulations to Bill and John, the 2025 League Champions.

I want to thank all of you for a very enjoyable season. This is by far the largest league I’ve ever run, and it all went pretty smooth. But it went pretty smooth thanks to your efforts. I think there was only one night that a card wasn’t turned in, and that one I got by text. Most of you got your own subs. And I don’t think I had to deal with one complaint about someone cheating or not counting their strokes. That’s pretty amazing.

NEXT YEAR
Several of you asked, and I don’t want to leave this unaddressed. I’m sure all of you understand this was a disappointing season for me, not getting to play. Made it hard to stay motivated. I found out today that I may be looking at neck surgery this fall for a pinched nerve that could have me in recovery at the start of season.
I do enjoy running leagues, and when I took this league over this year it was with every intent to run the league for years to come. But as this season closes, I’m not sure I will be able fulfill that hope. I will decide in early January and email the league so to leave you time to react and find another volunteer.
In the event that I do not run the league… or someone else wants to run the league (I’m not possessive about it), the league is well organized and I will help anyone who is interested next year. You don’t have to build a web site to run the league.
Sorry if this ends things on a down note. Not my intent. But I wanted to let everyone know where things stand.
