The Great Dismal Swamp Monster won Team of the Week, and needed every point of their award winning performance, to beat IGot Boom 129-125. What a quarterback duel. Boom had Lamar Jackson, who had 40. Kyler Murry got 30 for the Swamp Monsters. Bijan Robinson added 24 more for the Swamp Monsters, who advance to 4-6 and on the fringe of the playoff picture.

Jamar Chase was the Player of the Week. That is an unusual accomplishment for a wide receiver. Chase had 44. He was paired with his Warrior / Bengals teammate Joe Burrow who had 41. I was already preparing the Warriors Team of the Week article after Thursday night. But frankly the rest of the team was rather mediocre. More than good enough to beat Cincinnati Brown. Heck, Chase and Burrow won that battle 85-84. But the actual final score was 128-84.

The Oky Ducks held on to a narrow victory over the Milford Marauders 92-87. The win gives the Ducks the very coveted Whitman Hart rivalry trophy. I’ve gotten really bad about keeping up with rivalry games, so I don’t know who won it last year. But that doesn’t matter now. The Ducks walked off the field with it Monday night. The Ducks were led by Josh Allen with 22.

The Scammers got a clutch game from Jalen Hurts, who had 37. The Scammers beat the Flippin Birds 104-83, and go back into first place in the Halas division.

Multiple Scoregasms is getting serious about defending their title. They spotted most of the league a two game head start, but now are back to 5-5 after a 104-69 victory over the Kentucky Moondogs. Calvin Ridley was game MVP with 20.

And the Destroyers are back to .500 after a 96-54 win over the Renegades. There were not players worth mentioning from this game, but it must have been a pretty balanced performance by the Destroyers to get close to one hundred with no twenty points scorer.

SURVIVOR
Cincinnati Brown has had an excellent season. Their best in three years in the league. But their survivor run ends this week as they get bounced off the island tonight. And with that, we are down to the final two. In a side game this week, it is IGot Boom and the Swamp Monsters who have a little side battle to determine the 2024 Survivor Champion.

WHAT IS GOOD ENOUGH
Most seasons 6-8 will at least get you into a tie for a playoff spot. Then its up to points scored. Brace yourself. That is no guarantee this year. As it stands now, there are only three teams below .500. That means one team with a .500 record would not make the playoffs. If you are wondering, that team right now would be the Marauders.

Just keep that in mind coming down the stretch.

GAME OF THE WEEK
The Game of the Week is the Warriors travelling to the east side to play the Scammers. Both teams are 6-4. Both teams are in first place in the Halas division.

The Warriors will run Joe Burrow and his mate Jamar Chase out on the field to take on the Scammers. A daunting pair looking at this past week.

The Scammers have their own teammates, but not as daunting. Jalen Hurts and Davonta Smith of the Eagles. Jamar Chase is coming off a 44 point game. Smith had 1.7. Advantage Warriors.
