This is absolutely sickening. As the schedule writer, I would feel guilty if I were emotionally capable (I’m missing the gene that allows a person to feel compassion or guilt). Kickin Chicken has had a rough go of it to start. And this week all the stars aligned to get them 123 points. But they played the Team of the Week, and lost. And now Kickin Chicken is 0-6, and it just isn’t right.

But enough about them. The Beercats on the other hand advanced to a league best 5-1 with the 127-123 victory. A rather impressive score for a team that did not have a twenty point scorer. If this league had a better stat keeper, you’d know how many times that has happened that a TOW didn’t have a twenty point player. The NFL has a good stat keeper, and he dropped this nugget on the Bengals game Sunday night… The Bengals All-Time have only won one game scoring 10 points or less. That was a 1977 10-7 win over the Cleveland Browns.

I’m straying. I feel like Kamala Harris is trying to write this article. The importances of points is that points determine who wins or loses. So the point of the game is to score more points than your opponent scores points. If you achieve that point, you’ll get a point in the standings. And that is the whole points of the game. Did you get the point?

OK, I’m just aborting and starting over from scratch. I shouldn’t have said aborting. That’s a whole ‘nother political conversation that I’m simply going to avoid.

The Beercats were the top scoring team in week six, knocking off Kickin Chicken 127-123. Joe Burrow was the leading scorer for the Beercats with 19. The Beercats are now 5-1, first place in the Shula division and tied for the best record in the league. For Kickin Chicken, it was a tough loss as they are still searching for their first win.

Thank goodness for Jordan Love. If not for him winning Player of the Week with 35 points for Shakedown, I would have had to eat crow from my comments in last weeks article. I’ll get to that in a minute. Jordan Love’s 35 was not enough to overcome the dynamic duo from the Atlanta Falcons. The Scammers (unwittingly) started two running backs from the same NFL team. And Bijon Robinson and Tyler Allgeier scored 22 and 18 respectively. That, with 28 from Josh Allen allowed the Scammers to win 115-98.

Since I mentioned eating crow, I made a snide comment about the QBs in our Game of the Week last week. I scoffed at Jared Goff vs Gino Smith. Well, Gino did his part. He scored an underwhelming 18. But freakin’ Jared Goff post 31 for Momball and would have been Player of the Week if not for Love. Phew!. Goff’s 31 and Derrick Henry’s 25 let Momball to a decisive 126-99 win. Momball has won four in a row, is also 5-1, and in sole possession of first in the Chuck Noll division.

I got my explanations of Titan’s Kingless Court. And it was a good one. Titans is fort the Tennessee Titans. And the King is, or was, Derrick Henry. Derrick Henry left Tennessee to play for the Baltimore Raven. Thus Titans King-less Court. The Titans had time to provide that explanation and still enter a starting lineup good enough to beat Bane 94-86. Brock Purdy was game MVP with 30 for Bane, but the more balanced attack of the Titans won the day.

Car Ramrod left Happy resigned to defeat 90-76. Jalen Hurts and David Montgomery (who I learned this week is a Cincinnati kid) scored 25 and 20 respectively in the win. This moves Car Ramrod up, while Happy assumes a new position in the Shula division standings.

Down the Drain has created a clog in the Tom Landry division with a 93-61 victory over previously first place Error 404. Lamar Jackson scored 22 for Drain. Drain’s victory creates a three way tie at the top of the division, with Shakedown just a game behind.

SURVIVOR
Look who’s abandoning us. Just pickin’ up their stuff and walking off Survivor Island. There must have been an open position in Davy Jones locker, and someone is Happy to fill it. We all wish you the best of luck!

EAGLES SOAR
What a coincidence. And a bit awkward. I just happen to run into Madhav at the grocery store last night. All credit to him, he recognized me. I was focused on what I needed to get and paying no attention. But as we were talking, I asked how his team was doing. Little did I realize he was the top scoring team in the BM league.

The Eagles beat the Ohio State Buckeyes (sadly, not the only game that happened in this weekend) 117-88. Caleb Williams was the leading scorer with 38. That actually gets Calab Williams Player of the Week in a very rare occurrence where the Player of the Week is different in the two leagues. Bijon Robinson added 22 more for the Eagles, who are not 4-2.

Florida SeaBreeze is in the win column. In a game that narrowly qualifies as a good game, SeaBreeze beat the Willow Run Flyers 92-82. Brock Purdy had 30 in the Breeze victory. It is the first win of the season for Breeze, who still have a long way to go to get back into the playoff hunt.

Steel City FooBall is looking good this year. FooBall is 4-2 and in first place in the Lombardi division after a 113-101 win over division rival Prestige Worldwide. CJ Stroud had 26 for the victorious FooBall. Along wth the Eagles, expect Fooball and Prestige to battle all season long for this division.

The most competitive division is definitely the Paul Brown division. After this weekend, all four teams are 3-3. The Baloony Boiz got back to .500 by beating the Gritz Blitz Falcons 108-80. They were led by Joe Mixon’s 25 and Chris Godwin’s 24. Tbe Falcons have the tie breaker with most points scored.

Tied with those two teams is the Raiders and Grande Fantasmas. The Raiders beat Fantasmas 115-86. The Raiders were the benefactors of an unusual line score, or should I say Lion score. The Lions defense and the Lions kicker each got 19 to lead the Raiders. Unusual to have your defense and kicker be your top scorers.

The final winner of week six was the Old England Patriots 104-77 over the Digital Scammers. Josh Allen and David Montgomery as 28 and 20 respectively. The Patriots have won a league best four in a row. These teams are now tied in the Halas division, but the scammers hold the tie.

SURVIVOR
Hmmm. I never enjoy this story when I get to this point in the season. But this weeks elimination is the Digital Scammers. This is so much more fun to write when it is somebody else.

GAME OF THE WEEK
Don’t look now, but this is the halfway point in the season. Game seven of fourteen. Man football season goes by fast.

No really outstanding matchups that just jump out at me. But I’ll pick one that I think is going to be a good race all the way to the end of the season. Prestige Worldwide travels to play the Cincinnati Eagles in a Lombardi division matchup. Prestige is 3-3 and in third place behind FooBall and the Eagles. But they enter the game the highest scoring team in the division and second in the league. As a matter of fact, Prestige Worldwide and the Gritz Blitz Falcons are the only two teams averaging 100 points per game in the BMFFL, and are both more than sixty points clear of the third place team.

The Eagles are on the other end of the spectrum. They are tied for first, but are next to last in points scored. The significance is any tie will go to Prestige.

Prestige Worldwide has Lamar Jackson. The Ravens are starting to play good football in the NFL, and Jackson is scoring a lot of points. Kyren Williams will be back from bye in the backfield. The Eagles will counter with Jared Goff, who I dismissed last week before he had a thirty point game. So I won’t do that this week. He’ll be flanked by Bijon Robinson, a respectable and productive RB.
